State Memorial Service

The passing of Michael Gudinski shook the music industry. Matt was honoured to be asked to act as Lighting Director and Operator of the State Memorial Service at Rod Laver Arena.

With a star studded line up of guests who performed in tribute to Michael, the need for a Lighting Director and Operator with experience in high pressure and time critical environments was necessary. As such, Matt was called upon, as his experience in large scale concerts and broadcast events meant he was best suited to meet the demands of such a high profile event.

It was crucial that an event such as this, had a Lighting Director and Operator who was sensitive of the occasion of the event. As it was a State Memorial, it was important that a balance be struck between the celebration of the life of Michael while maintaining a sense of occasion for the memorial.
